Last night I hit the water with Josh Stevenson, owner of Blue Ribbon Bait and Tackle. Conditions were not ideal with all the rain that we got the night before but I did manage a nice fish right after the sun set. It wasn’t a monster but a real healthy fish and a scrappy fighter.
On Monday 8-15 I took clients Doug Carlson and Gene out on a multi-species trip. We were able to find some bass and pike right away in the morning and also contacted some very active muskies on classic musky spots for this time of year. Big fish seem to be moving in to position to start chasing some fast moving baits. I anticipate a good bucktail bite in the next few weeks. We also had a good time catching panfish under docks. Night crawlers seemed to be the preferred bait.
Sunday 8-14 I was able to hit some skinny water with Chad from Toothtamer Rods. We took the jet boat out and had a blast catching smallies. The smallies were hungry and ticked off.
