Meet Ryan

Hello,
I’m Ryan McMahon and I’ve been fishing muskies since the late 90’s and guiding since 2010. My love for fishing started at a young age and evolved into a career that I’m very passionate about. I love teaching and sharing my knowledge of musky fishing with others. As much as I enjoy the adrenaline rush of boating these fish myself, nothing beats the feeling of helping someone to their first musky or their personal best fish!

Throughout my career in musky fishing I’ve made appearances on Musky Hunter TV, Keyes Outdoors, and In Depth Outdoors. I’ve been writing for Musky Hunter Magazine for the past 10 years and am proud to be an On-the-Water Editor. I’ve also fished and guided in numerous Musky Tournaments with many clients finishing in the top 10 in the Metro Musky tournament and personally placed 3rd at the Lake Vermillion PMTT in 2015.

I’m based out of the Twin Cities and fish local lakes throughout the year as well as some of the tremendous musky fisheries we have around the state of Minnesota. I love a good adventure and have a long list of lakes that I’ll fish… this allows my boat to stay on good bites and put more fish in the boat!

You’ll be fishing out of Ryan’s 2012 Ranger 620vs. Using Thorne Bros Predator Rods.

“Catching muskies consistently from metro waters is not a simple task, but Ryan makes it look easy.  He is constantly fishing different waters and maintaining the pulse of the musky activity.  Over the years Ryan has accumulated a wealth of knowledge on many different waters across Minnesota, well beyond his years.  Expect to fish early and/or fish late, but in the end you might be holding your trophy!
Ryan is great to fish with as he is easy going, flexible and has the patience to answer your questions.  If you are looking to learn while you catch muskies Ryan McMahon is the guy for you.  Time in the boat with Ryan is certainly time well spent.”
